One of the Densetsu no Sannin (Legendary Three Ninja) of Konoha, Jiraiya is everyone’s favorite and perverted hermit.
A remarkable ninja and possibly the closest thing to the Hokage that never was, Jiraiya is both wise and knowledgeable of everything related to the world of ninjas. However, this Sannin is not without his own weakness. His love for girls coupled with his hobby of spying attractive young women has leaded him into some troubles on many occasions. It’s unfortunate that everyone favorite hermit is a pervert!

Retired from active duty, Jiraiya’s life is rather simple – he spends most of his time spying on women bathing and writing on his erotic novel series named “Icha Icha”. Incidentally, Hatake Kakashi is also a firm fan of the series.
However, it was later revealed that the real reason Jiraiya left was not to simply become a writer nor was his spying on young women a mere pastime. His main objective in spying was to actually keep track of Orochimaru. It was from his surveillance that Jiraiya uncovered the existence of the criminal organization, Akatsuki.
Well versed in many fighting styles, Jiraiya is a very competent and powerful ninja, noted for being able to efficiently repel Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame. One of his strongest trademark styles is his Rasengan which can easily destroy a huge boulder or even kill the most powerful of his opponents if they receive a direct hit from it. Jiraiya also has many summoning techniques and has made a pact with toads, so that he could summon them whenever need be, even the most powerful toad of them all, Gamabunta, is at his command. Jiraiya is also very knowledgeable with sealing jutsu which he creates a method of suppressing the demon fox’s influence over Naruto. In addition to this impressive arsenal of techniques, Jiraiya’s experience makes him quite difficult to fool or surprise, thus, making him an even more formidable opponent.
